Approved DWI Screening
In 2006 Vehicle and Traffic law §1198 was enacted which establishes "special procedures" regarding mandatory alcohol/drug screening and treatment which are now applicable to most DWI cases. Practically, this means that the courts in White Plains, Yonkers, Bedford, Harrison and the rest of Westchester County, will require, at your initial appearance , an alcohol evaluation and participation in subsequent treatment if indicated.
The place you choose for that evaluation is an important decision as all too often recommendations regrading types of treatment and its length, will differ. The following is a list of approved alcohol treatment facilities. The choice of which one to utilize for your particular case should be discussed with your DWI Attorney.
