Michael Kramer, Attorney at law

Interviewer: What are your clients like in that situation? What are your clients immediate needs when you first talk to them, what do they first want to know from you?

Michael Kramer: They want advice. They want to know what’s going to happen. Based upon my experience, I can tell a client with a relative degree of certainty, what the probable outcome will and should be.

It is Absolutely Imperative to Hire an Attorney to Defend DWAI Drug Charges

Interviewer: Is it necessary to hire an attorney in a DWAI Drug case?

Michael Kramer: It’s too serious not to. You’re facing a criminal record as we referred to, possible jail, the loss of your license, increased insurance rates and often times the loss of your job. Often an experienced attorney in this area of law can avoid these consequences. I know that I can.

Insurance Companies May Increase Rates In the Event of a DWAI Drug Conviction

Interviewer: What typically happens with insurance rates?

Michael Kramer: I can’t give you amounts, but as anyone knows, insurance companies look for any excuse to increase rates, speeding tickets, too many points and certainly something more serious, such as a DWAI drug conviction.

The Qualities to Look For When Retaining an Attorney to Defend a DWAI Drug Charge

Interviewer: What is the first thing people should be looking for in an attorney when it comes to their DWAI case. And what are some red flags as well?

Michael Kramer: Well, not being in a position to have to search for an attorney and not knowing what attorneys are saying on the internet, the main thing that I would look for is experience in that particular field and experience practicing criminal law. If certainly the lawyer has got 30 – 35 years of experience, practicing in a particular jurisdiction such as Westchester County, he must know what he’s doing. But perhaps the best way to determine what lawyer is best for you is a personal one-on-one interview. That should not be avoided. So pick a lawyer that looks the best to you on the internet, if that’s the source you’re using, set up an appointment and go see him or her.
