Michael Kramer, Attorney at law

Interviewer: Do you think that a lot of people are prone to be repeat offenders in certain traffic violations? Do they typically learn their lesson after the case? What has been your experience on this matter as a Bedford Speeding Ticket Lawyer or White Plains, NY Traffic Violations Attorney?

Drivers Tend To Be Careful Initially After Receiving A Traffic Ticket, But That Can Be Short-Lived

Michael Kramer: Yes, I would say people are careful for a period of time at least and then that usually wears off. But people develop their own driving personalities as they do with regard to their personalities in other areas of their life. Some people are calm in other facets of their life, but they get behind a car and they just like to drive fast and they like to get into the fastest lane.

Those are the people that may get issued a ticket then may be careful for the next 4 to 6 months. But unfortunately driving patterns tend to recur in reality; they should be the most careful drivers out there because they know that they’re going to be the ones most prone to getting these types of tickets.

Some Traffic Offenses Are Judgment Calls by the Police Officers

Interviewer: What are some traffic violations that you see people commit that they’re generally unaware of as a Traffic Violations Attorney in White Plains, NY? After receiving a ticket, your clients say, “I didn’t know that was illegal.”

Michael Kramer: Most of those types of tickets are judgment calls, such as when you’re following someone too closely, for example. You may not think you’re too close but an officer in his judgment may feel that you’re too close. Changing lanes without signaling, you know that you’re supposed to signal but you forget that is the type of violation you wouldn’t realize that you committed.

Most of the time the types of traffic violations that you get ticketed for are the ones that are most commonplace and most people know that they committed it. They may not realize it at that time but they typically know it’s a violation of the law. Anyone facing a traffic violation can contact the White Plains, NY Traffic Violations Lawyers at our office.
