VISUAL OBSERVATIONS WHICH CAN RESULT IN A DWI STOP

• Headlights off
• Accelerating or decelerating rapidly
• Turning abruptly or illegally
• Stopping inappropriately (other than the lane of travel)
• Responding slowly to traffic signals
• Driving into or crossing traffic
• Erratic application of brakes
• Driving with tires on the center lane marker
• Drifting
• Following too closely
• Stopping without cause in the lane of traffic
• Driving too slowly
• Driving at erratic speeds
• Swerving
• Driving on other than the designated highway
• Weaving
• Appearing to be drunk (eye fixation. tightly gripping the wheel, gesturing erratically)
• Straddling the center of the lane or on the lane marker
• Turning with a wide radius
